US Salvation Army starts accepting bitcoin donations

The Salvation Army’s headquarters in the western US states has launched accepting donations in bitcoin and Ethereum through the cryptocurrency platform Engiven. It said in a statement.

The ability to transfer digital assets for charitable purposes is available nationwide. If a postal address is provided, donations will go towards funding local programmes.

„I believe the cryptocurrency community can make a great contribution to the Salvation Army’s efforts,“ said spokesperson Kyle Smith.

The Engiven platform provides cryptocurrency donation management Bitcoin Supreme services to non-profit companies.

The Salvation Army is an international charity. The US-based unit helps more than 23 million citizens who find themselves in difficult situations each year.

In March 2020, the Human Rights Foundation began accepting bitcoin donations through the BTC Pay Server.
